JJ Engineering (Birmingham) Limited have recently embarked on a renewed strategy to increase sales to both existing and new customers, not only targeting current markets, but also identifying new market areas not traditionally associated with the company.
Kevin Swallow, Business Manager responsible for H.R. at the company, said: We started by looking at how we promote ourselves and this led to a re-think on our marketing strategy. We decided to re-visit and improve everything we do, including the update of our website, attending trade shows, exhibiting at the Made in the Midlands exhibition, alongside more traditional methods of contacting companies directly.
Kevin added: We have also updated our company literature and brochure, invested in some marketing giveaways such as pens, pads, calendars, mugs, etc. and looked at how we present ourselves to customers. This approach has paid dividends because as well as the new opportunities created in our current markets and with our current customer base, we have also increased the amount of different parts we manufacture for Jaguar Land Rover through the supply chain and we have established some good leads into the medical sector with even more potential new orders on the horizon.
Due to the continued growth being experienced, the company have looked at their internal organisational structure with a view to further improving upon the support and service offered to its customers. The re-structuring of the company operations has resulted in several new positions being created, particularly a Manufacturing Manager to head-up its Logistics and Production Departments together with a Project Engineer to further support and process customer enquiries.
