Loyal workforce celebrated by metal pressings and engineering firm

Recent viewers of JJ Engineering (Birmingham) Limited’s site, will be aware that they are celebrating 40 years of successful business.  Equally remarkable, however, are the number of members of staff that have also accrued impressive milestones of their own through their employment with the family run metal pressings and engineering firm.

Amongst these staff, Jackie Gregory has recently clocked up 25 years in service to JJ Engineering.  To mark the occasion they presented Jackie with a token of their appreciation and Mark Hadley, Business Manager gave a thank you speech for her many years of service.

Such loyalty is in fact widespread throughout the firm.  Strikingly, almost half of their staff (43%) have achieved 10 years of service or more.  They have 10 members of staff with 10 to 19 years’ service, 7 members with 20 to 29 years’ service and another member of staff with nearly 32 years’ service.

Kevin Swallow, HR Manager commented: “Whilst we know our staff are a dedicated and loyal lot, we didn’t realise that between these 18 members of our team, they have nearly 400 years’ service!”

He added: “It reinforces our belief that although a business needs lots of things to survive, crucially, it needs its people.  With such a long-serving workforce, we know we are capable of delivering a superior service backed up by the experience our staff gives us.”

JJ Engineering still have an eye on the future, Kevin explained: “When you add in the remainder of our employees – who’s length of service ranges from 1½ years to 9 years - we believe the balance we have sets us up nicely for the next 40 years and allows us a fresh, dynamic approach whilst maintaining our core principles and a sense of traditional workmanship for our customers.”

The company are justifiably proud of their loyal and dedicated workforce and look forward to many more team members achieving long-service status.
