JJ Engineering (Birmingham) Limited Celebrate 40 Years of Metal Pressing Excellence

JJ Engineering (Birmingham) Limited is celebrating 40 successful years in business.  The family run metal pressings and engineering firm are gearing up to further success with the recruitment of two new employees.

The TS16949 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems accredited company are located in Garretts Green and specialise in the manufacture of quality, technically demanding pressings and welded assemblies that are manufactured using a variety of metals and finishes.  These are supplied to customers mainly in the automotive, oil exploration and filtration sectors. 

Managing director Jonathan Davis said: “our ongoing success has been achieved by continual investment in new plant and equipment, the flexibility and skill of the employees and a continuing loyal customer base, many of whom have grown alongside JJ Engineering over the last 40 years of business.” 

JJ Engineering know their success has been fuelled by the skills of its employees and the emphasis they place on continual training and ongoing support.  Furthermore, the company is recruiting a further Quality Engineer and a Works/Project Engineer to expand the company’s technical expertise.

The firm is equipped to meet client’s specific pressed metal needs, by offering high or low volume manufacturing capacity with a range of processes, including power press capability up to 350 tonnes.  Components can be produced from cut blank and coiled strip material by progression and single operation tooling sets.  

JJ Engineering offer a range of ancillary operations including: drilling, milling, pitch-feed tapping, riveting, resistance welding, CO² and programmable robotic welding and component assembly operations together with sub contracted finishing operations such as electro-phoretic painting, powder coating, anodising, polishing and electro plating.

The company has a well equipped Tool Room, with facilities including: CNC machining, EDM wire erosion, digitising and full CAD/CAM facilities. They are also able to offer a complete service in new press tooling design, manufacture, and maintenance.  In addition to this, JJ Engineering (Birmingham) Limited uses MRP2 systems to ensure effective logistics planning and the delivery of parts to customer requirements.
